All three games will be televised on ESPN+ and fans will have a chance to win prizes by playing Bingo at the Ballpark Saturday.
Game One – Southeastern 7, Alcorn State 0
Comeaux and Alcorn State starter Kiri Parker (3-13) matched zeroes until SLU broke open the game in the bottom of the third inning. Detillier doubled home the inning's first two runs and scored later in the frame on an RBI single by Johnson. After a double by
Maddie Watson, Stoddard singled down the right field line to plate two more and give SLU a 5-0 lead.
A two-run single by Johnson in the bottom of the fourth inning closed out the scoring. Comeaux was never seriously threatened and sat down the Lady Braves in order in the top of the seventh inning to close out the shutout win.
Game Two – Southeastern 16, Alcorn State 1 (5 Innings)
An RBI single by Parker gave Alcorn State a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the advantage was short-lived. Southeastern sent 10 to the plate against ASU starter Ta'Niyah Fletcher (1-8) in the bottom of the first inning.
A wild pitch scored the first run, then Johnson,
Maddie Watson and Kulivan all drove in runs in a seven-run frame that gave SLU a 7-1 advantage after the opening inning.
Southeastern added to its lead in the bottom of the second inning. After Detillier drew a one-out walk, she scored on an RBI double by
Maddie Watson to extend the Lady Lion lead to 8-1.
Any chance of an Alcorn State comeback ended in the bottom of the fourth inning. Johnson led off an eight-run frame with her team-high sixth home run of the season, while Magee and Krolczyk each drove in a pair of runs. Southeastern sent 12 to the plate in the inning and grew its lead to 16-1.
DuBois tossed a scoreless fifth to close out the run-rule victory.
