Box Score 2 HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team opened its final Southland Conference home series of the season with a pair of run-rule victories over Lamar Friday evening at North Oak Park.
With the wins, SLU (41-10, 16-4 SLC) secured its third consecutive season with 40 or more wins. The Lady Lions have posted a 127-40 record over the past three seasons – the three winningest campaigns in program history. Lamar fell to 26-22 overall and 12-11 in conference play.
Ka'Lyn Watson (3-for-3, 2 runs scored) and
Bailey Krolczyk (2-for-2, 3 runs scored) led Southeastern in the opener, as SLU took advantage of six LU errors in a 9-1 victory.
Maria Detillier and
Audrey Greely each drove in two runs.
Cera Blanchard (17-2) improved to 10-0 in Southland Conference games, allowing one hit in a complete-game effort.
Ellie DuBois (13-4) and
Allison Brunson combined for Southeastern's single-season school record 14
th shutout of the season in an 8-0 win in the nightcap. Greely was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBI, while
Lexi Johnson and
Cam Goodman added two hits apiece.
Southeastern will close out its regular season home schedule Saturday with the noon series finale. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and fans can win prizes by playing Bingo at the Ballpark.

Game One – Southeastern 9, Lamar 1 (5 Innings)
Lamar took an early lead in the top of the first inning. Shenita Tucker drew a leadoff walk, moved to second on a groundout and caught the Lady Lion defense napping, scoring all the way from second when Trinity Brandon beat out an infield single to give LU a 1-0 lead. Blanchard would not let Lamar get anything else going from there, retiring the final 14 Cardinal batters of the game.
Southeastern batted around in the bottom of the second inning against Emma Wardlaw (9-6). The Lady Lions scored five unearned runs off five Lamar errors. Greely and Detillier each drove in runs in an inning that saw SLU take a 5-1 lead.
Southeastern padded its lead in the bottom of the third inning. Krolczyk ripped her team-high sixth triple of the season to centerfield and scored on a sacrifice fly by Greely to put the Lady Lions up, 6-1. An RBI single by Detillier scored
Ka'Lyn Watson and gave SLU a 7-1 advantage in the bottom of the fourth inning.
SLU walked it off in the bottom of the fifth inning. RBI singles by
Colleen Kulivan and Goodman secured the mercy-rule win – the Lady Lions' 40
th of the season. Southeastern finished 40-16 in 2022, then followed that up with a 47-14 showing in 2023.
Game Two – Southeastern 8, Lamar 0
SLU took a commanding lead in the bottom of the second inning versus LU starter Karyana Mitchell (13-7). Consecutive two-out RBI singles by Greely, Kulivan, Goodman and
Ka'Lyn Watson gave Southeastern a 4-0 advantage.
The Lady Lions extended their lead in the bottom of the third inning. Johnson ripped a double into the left field corner to score Detillier and give SLU a 5-0 cushion. Greely and Goodman pulled off a double steal in the fourth to put the Lady Lions up, 6-0.
DuBois and Brunson combined to hold Lamar to four hits in the win. The 14
th shutout of the season tops the previous school mark of 13 set by the 2023 staff.
Southeastern ended it early in the bottom of the fifth inning. An error allowed Johnson to score the first run of the frame, then Greely singled home Krolczyk to close out the 8-0 win.
