HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts Alcorn State in a pair of midweek contests Tuesday and Wednesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field featuring a packed slate of promotions.
Baseball's annual Block Party presented by Barn Hill Preserve is an opportunity for fans to play some tailgate games, win a t-shirt and mingle with exotic animals. The whole event starts at 3:30 p.m., prior to Tuesday's game, outside the main entrance down the right-field line.
Scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch Tuesday, the first game is another $2 Tuesday contest. General Admission tickets purchased at the ballpark, as well as hot dogs, are $2 each. During the game, one lucky fan will have the opportunity to race a hot dog.
Wednesday's game is slated for a 3 p.m. first pitch and it is the baseball team's Autism Awareness Day. Limited edition t-shirts will be given out to the first 150 fans in attendance.
Kids 12 and under will be able to stand on the field with their favorite Lion player during the national anthem prior to both games.
TV coverage of both games will be provided by ESPN+. Fans can listen to the game broadcasts in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Both the TuneIn and MyTuner apps are compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles. Search for KSLU 90.9 FM in the TuneIn app.
