SLU Hosts No. 14-Ranked Ragin’ Cajuns for $2 Tuesday

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the first of two non-conference contests against the No. 14-ranked Ragin' Cajuns this week.
 
Scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field, the first game is another $2 Tuesday contest. General Admission tickets purchased at the ballpark and hot dogs are $2 each. Kids 12 and under will be able to stand on the field with their favorite Lion player during the national anthem.
 
Tuesday's game is also MLB Jersey Night with fans encouraged to wear their favorite Major League Baseball team's jersey to the ballpark.
 
Wednesday's game against the Ragin' Cajuns (28-9) is scheduled for 6 p.m. at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park in Lafayette, Louisiana.
 
TV coverage of both games will be provided by ESPN+. Fans can listen to the game broadcast in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Both the TuneIn and MyTuner apps are compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles. Search for KSLU 90.9 FM in the TuneIn app.
 
Southeastern (19-17) dropped all three games in a Southland Conference series at Lamar this past weekend and is looking to snap a seven-game losing streak.
 
Hitting .262 as a team with a Southland-leading 46 home runs, the Lions are led at the plate by Shea Thomas (.326-6-27), Rhett Rosevear (.305-1-8) and TJ Salvaggio (.290-7-25).
 
Right-hander Will Kinzeler (1-3, 8.56) draws the starting nod for SLU in the opener. The senior from Covington, Louisiana will be opposed by Ragin' Cajun senior right-hander JT Etheridge (1-2, 3.86).
 
Southeastern has not announced a starting pitcher for Wednesday's game. The Ragin' Cajuns are slated to start redshirt sophomore right-hander Blake McGehee (1-1, 5.85) on the mound.
 
Hitting .295 as a team, the Ragin' Cajuns are led at the plate by Trey LaFleur (.400-5-18), Kyle DeBarge (.338-12-38) and Duncan Pastore (.304-2-23).
 
Winners of three consecutive, the Ragin' Cajuns have won 19 of their last 20 games overall.
 
UP NEXT
With no conference series this weekend, the Lions return to action next week with a pair of non-conference games at home against Alcorn State. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m., April 23-24, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
 
TICKET & PARKING INFORMATION
Single-game tickets are now on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office before the game to reserve theirs in advance.
 
General admission tickets for most games are $11 for adults and $8 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.
 
Tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour before the scheduled first pitch.

Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
