Day One Recap;
Day Two Recap
AUSTIN, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team finished its three days at the 96
th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays as the men's 4x800 relay team and
Slavko Stevic made their marks in the event on Saturday at the Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Complex on the campus of the University of Texas.
Southeastern's first action of the day was in the men's 4x800-meter relay as
Javon-Taye Williams,
Josiah Whitaker,
Noah Kiprotich, and
Tim Anstett combined to cross the line in seventh place with a time of 7:46.86.
The final Lion to compete was Stevic in the men's high jump A competition. He would breeze through his first two heights, getting over 2.10 meters (6'10.75") and 2.15 meters (7'0.5") on his first attempt. But that would be the end of the line for him as he would not make it over 2.19 meters (7'2.25") in his three attempts at the height, but it would be good enough to get him a fourth-place finish as the three competitors who took the podium spots in front of him all cleared heights beating the current SLU school record.
With the weekend in Texas now over, the Lions return to Louisiana next Saturday, making the 45-minute drive to Baton Rouge, this time going to Southern University for the Pelican Relays at A.W. Mumford Stadium.
