HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team kicks off a four-game road trip Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. non-conference matchup against No. 9-ranked LSU at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Southeastern (22-25) faces LSU (32-15) for the first time in the Jay Johnson era. It will be the second time in as many seasons the Lions face a Johnson-coached club, traveling to Tuscon, Arizona last season for a four-game series against a then No. 19-ranked Arizona Wildcat squad.
Fans in the Hammond area can listen to the game broadcast on the flagship station of the Southeastern Sports Radio Network – KSLU 90.9 FM – in addition to online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, Mixlr and MyTuner Radio apps. The MyTuner app is compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late model automobiles. Fans should search for SLU Athletics (Mixlr) or Southeastern Sports Radio Network (MyTuner).
The game will also air on the SEC Network+.
SLU is coming off a sweep of Houston Baptist in a three-game Southland Conference series at home.
Preston Faulkner (.313),

Christian Garcia (.254) and
Tyler Finke (.252) pace Southeastern at the plate. Faulkner leads the squad with 27 extra-base hits, including a Southland-leading 13 home runs to go along with 52 RBIs. The RBI total ranks second in the conference.
Tyler Finke is tied for the Southland lead with 21 stolen bases.
Rhett Rosevear (30) leads the nation in HBPs and the Lions (100), as a team, are tied with Purdue for the national lead.
Faulkner enters the week tied for second (33) on Southeastern's career home run chart with Jeremy Gross (1997-98). He is now third (158) in career RBIs, having bypassed Ty Summerlin (2006-09) in this past weekend's series finale. Faulkner is also fourth (40) in career HBPs, five back of Rosevear who sits in third place (45).
With three steals in the HBU series, Finke (49) is now tied for ninth in career stolen bases with Rod Morris (1987-88).
Reliever
Gage Trahan is tied for both sixth on the single-season saves (8) chart with Mike Kimbrell (1996) and Chris Province (2007) and 10
th on the program's career saves (8) chart with Scott Kupper (1989-91), Kimbrell (1995-96) and Bryce Tassin (2017-19).
LSU picked up a non-conference win over Nicholls, 10-6, this past Tuesday before taking two-of-three in a Southeastern Conference series at Alabama.
Former Arizona third baseman Jacob Berry leads the Tigers with a .378 batting average. Dylan Crews' .347 batting average is the second-highest on the squad but he leads the team with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs. Berry ranks second with 15 homers and 48 RBIs.

Southeastern wraps up the regular season with a three-game conference series against Nicholls at Ray E. Didier Field in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Games are slated for 6 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. Part of a new Southland schedule format in 2022 that designates a rival for both a home and away series, it will be the second time the teams face each other this season.
