Mass walked to lead off the game, stole second and scored when Rayner deposited a double over the head of left Maci Cunconan to put SLU up, 1-0. In the bottom of the second, Watson ripped a home run well over the left field fence to double the Lady Lion advantage.

A day after striking out 11 in six innings of scoreless work in Saturday's 3-0 win over Portland State, Zumo was once again dominant in the circle. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native struck out seven of the 12 batters she faced before giving way to Romano in the final inning. Romano retired Katelyn Belding, Elise Shewmaker and Meghan Kline to close out the perfect game.
Game Two – Southeastern 5, Eastern Illinois 0

SLU padded its lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Greely and Goodman drew consecutive bases loaded walks to force in a pair of runs. Greely doubled home Rizzo and Watson in the bottom of the sixth inning to close out the scoring.
Ladner had the best stuff of her young Lady Lion career in Saturday's win. The transfer from Southern Miss struck out five batters in a row during one stretch. Comeaux allowed a leadoff single in the seventh, but retired the next three batters to secure Southeastern's fifth shutout victory of 2022.
