HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team defeated McNeese 5-1 during Senior Night in Strawberry Stadium Sunday evening.
Southeastern scored three goals in the first half of the match.
Makenzie Maher started the scoring rampage during the 30
th minute of the match with an assist from
Halli Roe and
Nicole O'Neill.
The next goal was made by
Mya Guillory off of a penalty kick that was put into the high left part of the goal in the 32
nd minute of the half.
Victoria Brackmann would score the last goal of the first half on a penalty kick during the 36
th minute of the half.
McNeese would answer with their own goal made by Matilde Tesgaard with an assist from Rachel Young in the 67
th minute.
The Lady Lions weren't satisfied with the 3-1 lead as they would answer Tesgaard's goal with two more of their own. Hanna Moffat would shoot the ball into the net with assists from Maher and Guillory in the 81
st minute of the match.
Maher would finish out the night with one last goal not even a minute later, with assists from Guillory and Moffat.
Southeastern would end the night with 10 shots on goal and 17 shots. Guillory would lead the Lady Lions with six shots and three shots on goal and two assists.
Olivia Griffin ended the night with three saves.
SLU will have their last regular season match on the road against Northwestern State in Natchitoches. Friday Oct, 28 at 7 p.m.
