AUBURN, Ala. – The Southeastern Louisiana softball team closed out its final nonconference weekend of the season on Saturday with a pair of losses to host Auburn at the Auburn Invitational Saturday evening at Jane B. Moore Field.
The Lady Lions fell to 8-10 overall with the two losses. Auburn (15-1) extended its win streak to 10 games with the victories.
In the opener, RBI doubles by
Ella Manzer and
Audrey Greely staked Southeastern to an early 2-0 lead. However, Auburn quelled SLU's upset hopes with a seven-run fourth inning on the way to a 9-2 victory.
Lindsey Rizzo and
Aeriyl Mass also collected hits for SLU in the loss.
MC Comeaux (2-4) took the loss in the circle in the opener for Southeastern.
After the Lady Lions took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Auburn answered with a six-run bottom of the frame en route to a 9-1 victory over SLU in the nightcap. Rizzo led SLU with two hits in the final game, while Greely,
Lexi Johnson and
Kelci Bodin also collected hits for SLU.
Shelby Sitzman (0-1) suffered her first loss of the season in the circle for the Lady Lions.

Southeastern will return home to host Southern Miss on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at North Oak Park. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
