HAMMOND, La. – Back-to-back four-run innings in the fifth and sixth powered a comeback for Team GATA Friday evening at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field during fall intrasquad action for the Southeastern Louisiana baseball program.
 
GATA (8-5-1) finally reached Team Mamba starting pitcher Kyle Bartley (1-1) in the fifth inning, erasing a 3-0 deficit. The big blow was a two-run home run to right-center field by infielder Nathan Tribble, a junior from Ponchatoula, Louisiana. A couple of infield hits, paired with a couple of errors, also aided in the comeback. Matt Taylor's two-run single in the sixth helped add to the lead.
 
Harrison Haley (2-2) earned the win, allowing one run in three innings pitched. The junior right-hander scattered three hits and did not issue a walk, striking out three batters. Bartley suffered the loss, allowing four runs – three earned – in five innings of work.

Christian Garcia (2-for-4) and Gabby Cruz (2-for-4) both turned in multi-hit performances. Joe Delaney (1-for-4), Cam Gauthier (1-for-3), Brandon Hale (1-for-2), Trey Harrington (1-for-4), Eli Johnson (1-for-3), Evan Keller (1-for-3), Connor Manola (1-for-3), Taylor Phillips (1-for-3) and Cade Scott (1-for-3) also produced hits, in addition to Taylor (1-for-3) and Tribble (1-for-2).
 
FALL WORLD SERIES
The Southeastern Louisiana baseball program will host its annual Heart of a Lion Fall World Series, Oct. 9-11, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The three-game series, scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 9, 2 p.m. Oct. 10 and 2 p.m. Oct. 11, will conclude the program's intrasquad action for the fall.
