HAMMOND, La.  – The Southeastern Louisiana football, volleyball and soccer teams will compete in Southland Conference play this week, while golf, tennis and softball are also in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The No. 19/22 Lion football team (3-1, 2-0 Southland) will play its second straight in-state Southland foe on the road Saturday, facing McNeese at 4 p.m. in Lake Charles. The game will air on Cox Sports Television and ESPN+ (outside of the CST viewing area). It also can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Radio FX and TuneIn Radio apps.
 
Fresh off back-to-back Southland victories for the first time in three years, the SLU volleyball team (7-9, 2-1 Southland) will hit the road for a pair of league matches. The week starts on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. contest at Nicholls. Sam Houston State awaits the Lady Lions on Saturday for a 1 p.m. Southland tilt.
 
The SLU soccer team (1-8-1, 0-3 Southland) also hits the road to continue Southland play this week. On Friday, the Lady Lions face Houston Baptist at 7 p.m. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi welcomes Southeastern on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.
 
The Southeastern golf team continues the fall portion of its 2019-20 schedule when it competes in the David Toms Intercollegiate. The tournament, hosted by LSU, is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Shreveport.
 
The Lion tennis team also will continue fall action this week. SLU will be in Pensacola, Florida from Friday through Sunday to participate in the Porfino Tennis Invitational, hosted by West Florida.
 
The SLU softball team will return home to continue its exhibition schedule. The Lady Lions are 2-1 this fall and host Copiah-Lincoln Community College for a 10-inning exhibition on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at North Oak Park.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football With Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at Tope La Catering in downtown Hammond. Assistant head coach/defensive line coach Raymond Monica is the special guest for Monday's show and a jersey autographed by new Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame inductee and former Lion wide receiver will be the door prize.
 
Hosted by Scelfo, the Lions' second-year head coach, and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show airs weekly from Tope La Catering, located at 113 East Thomas Street every Monday at 7 p.m. through Nov. 18.
 
The show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR).
