2019 will feature a season-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of college football. Throughout the nation, the CFB150 initiative will help remember the game's greatest teams, players, coaches and moments. Over the next nine days heading into the Aug. 29 opener versus No. 6 Jacksonville State, Southeastern Louisiana Football will participate in the initiative by celebrating the nine championship seasons in school history.
When the Lions and Gamecocks meet, the SLU faithful will see flags commemorating each championship season adorn the east side of Strawberry Stadium. Southeastern head coach Frank Scelfo is proud to celebrate Southeastern's history.
"Our championship teams deserve to be honored for their accomplishments," Scelfo said. "Those teams all had one focus and one shared vision. That's why they were champions. We want our 2019 teams and beyond to have that same championship vision".
