HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team concludes its preseason prep work Saturday with the annual Green and Gold Match at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the University Center.
 
First-year head coach Jeremy White will split 18 players into a pair of opposing squads for the scrimmage.
 
Volleyball posters and magnet schedules will be available, and fans are encouraged to choose a side by wearing either green or gold. Admission, as it will be for all home volleyball matches this season, is free. Students are reminded to bring their Southeastern-issued ID card with them.
 
Southeastern returns seven players off last season's squad, including seniors Jodi Edo and Jo Simovic. Other upperclassmen returning are Marisa Calvaruso, Caroline Golden, Sam Gomez, Alexis Pratt and Tempestt Vaughn.
 
White added experience to the program with four transfers. Karlee Wilkerson, a sophomore who hails from Springfield, Louisiana, returns home after playing last season at ULM. Ryan Maddera, one of the top junior college outside hitters a season ago, joins Southeastern from McCook Community College in Nebraska.
 
Outside hitter Hannah Barosh, a versatile junior, transfers in from Navarro College in Texas. Sitting out the season because of NCAA transfer rules is defensive specialist Dani Dagley, a sophomore who played for White last season at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Lady Lions also welcome seven freshmen, including both of the team's setters. Rookie players include middle blocker Crispin Adams, setter Ariana Hebert, outside hitter Jolie Hidalgo, setter Baylee Laskoskie, libero Lizzy Low, middle blocker Caroline Starns and Hammond native Eryn Wilks.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern travels to Jacksonville, Alabama, to open the regular season Friday in the Jax State Invitational. The Lady Lions match up with Troy at 10:30 a.m. in their season opener and, later Friday afternoon face East Tennessee State at 4:30 p.m. Southeastern and host Jacksonville State square off Saturday at 1:30 p.m. to conclude the weekend.
 
DIGGIN' IT CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the Southeastern volleyball program are encouraged to join the Diggin' It Club. Lion volleyball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
