Lions look to close productive spring on a high note

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana football team will close out its 2019 spring schedule with the Spring Game, set for 11 a.m. at Strawberry Stadium.

The Lions will play four 10-minute quarters on Saturday, with the Green team (defense) facing the White team (offense). The White team will be awarded points in the traditional way, as well as one point for each first down, one point for each big play (Run of 12 yards or more; Pass of 16 yards or more) and one point for each first down.

Any touchdowns scored by the defense will give the Green team six points. The Green defense will also be awarded points for a turnover (three points), a three-and-out (two points), sacks (two points) and a defensive stop (one point).

"We've made a lot of progress this spring," Southeastern head coach Frank Scelfo said. "We want to close out these 15 practices with a strong showing on Saturday. We're looking forward to giving our fans a fun afternoon."

The Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Party Barn has been postponed and will be moved to Thursday, April 18 after the SLU-Nicholls 6 p.m. baseball game.
