Kerr Shoots Final Round, 72, at Toyota Invitational

Sophomore Records Five Birdies Tuesday

LAKE CHARLES, La.  –
Sophomore Kris Kerr shot a final round 72 (E) for the Southeastern Louisiana golf team Tuesday at the Toyota Invitational at the Golden Nugget Country hosted by McNeese.
 
Kerr, the Loranger, Louisiana native, had five birdies, a bogey and a double bogey Tuesday.
 
Logan Kuehn led the Lions for the week shooting 221 (73-72-74 = +3). The sophomore shot a final round 74 (+2) totaling four bogeys and two birdies. The Lake Charles native finished the tournament with seven birdies and 10 bogeys.
 
Miller Maestri added to his team lead in birdies finishing the tournament with 13. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native has 54 birdies on the season after recording five in the first round and four each in the second and final round. The sophomore finished the tournament +7 (70-77-76 = 223)
 
The star-studded field was headlined by three of GolfStat.com's top 50 teams; 10th-ranked Texas Tech and 18th-ranked Arkansas State and 43rd-ranked TCU. The Lions were also joined by McNeese, Nicholls, Texas State, Missouri State,  UL Lafayette, Rice, Louisiana Tech, ULM, Texas-San Antonio, UNO, Arkansas-Little Rock, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, and Team Sweden.
 
TCU's David Ravetto won the individual championship shooting -19 (64-66-67=197) leading his team to the championship. The Horned Frogs shot -47 for the tournament winning by 15 shots over Texas Tech.
 
Southeastern will be back in action Monday and Tuesday March 25-26 at the Spring Classic in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
