HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana will Swing into Spring with a 6 p.m. game Wednesday against Alcorn State at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Free mini bats will be handed out (while supplies last) and fans are encouraged to take advantage of a buy one-get one free offer on tickets to the game (use online promo code SPRING).
The game between the Lions (7-12) and Alcorn (6-12) is also a Cane's Challenge contest. If Southeastern scores five or more runs versus the Braves, fans can redeem their game ticket or student coupon at their local participating Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.
Powered by the Southeastern Channel, a free video stream of the game may be viewed through the Southland Conference Digital Network. In addition to a web broadcast, fans may use the Southland Conference app to watch Wednesday's game on their favorite mobile, tablet or smart TV device. The Lions won their series finale, 5-3, Sunday at Oklahoma State while Alcorn took 2-of-3 in conference play this past weekend at Prairie View.
Southeastern is hitting .232 collectively, with 24 doubles, four triples, nine home runs and 30 stolen bases. The Lion pitching staff has worked to a combined 5.14 ERA, striking out 152 batters in 170 innings. Opponents are hitting .264 off Southeastern pitching.

Nathan Pilutti are tied for the team lead with a pair of home runs each, while Ray and Pilutti are the team leaders in RBI (16) and stolen bases (9), respectively.
Justin Simanek (0-0, 9.00), a junior right-hander from Kent, Washington, draws the starting nod for the Lions on the mound, opposing Alcorn senior left-hander Tyler Smith (0-0, 7.00). Simanek will be making his third appearance of the season and first in a starting role.
Travaris Cole (.371), Tristan Garcia (.328) and Brandon Rembert (.326) are the Braves top hitters. Cole also leads the team with four home runs and 20 RBI. Micah Walker's three stolen bases are tops on the squad.
Alcorn is hitting .251 as a team, with 22 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs and 13 stolen bases. The Braves' pitching staff has compiled an 8.76 team ERA, walking 127 batters and striking out 119 in 151 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .305 off Alcorn pitching.
Southeastern continues its four-game homestand this weekend, hosting Abilene Christian in a Southland Conference series. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
