During the 2012 season, Stony Brook made a storybook run through the postseason, reaching the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. After winning the America East Conference Tournament, the Seawolves battled back out of the loser's bracket to win the Coral Gables Regional and then claimed a pair of elimination games at No. 3-ranked LSU to take the Super Regional.
This season, Stony Brook is hitting .301 collectively, with six doubles, one triple, six home runs and three stolen bases. The Seawolf pitching staff has worked to a combined 8.31 ERA through three games, striking out 21 batters in 26 innings. Opponents are hitting .324 off Stony Brook pitching.

The Lions are 1-2 all-time against Stony Brook, with the Seawolves winning the March 2008 series played in Hammond behind the pitching of future big leaguer Tom Koehler.
Following the weekend series, Southeastern hosts UL Lafayette at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
