Game time moved up as Southeastern travels to No. 1-ranked LSU

First pitch moved up to 4 p.m.

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana heads out on the road Tuesday for the first time in 2019, traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to face No. 1-ranked LSU at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
 
First pitch between Southeastern (0-3) and the Tigers (3-0) has been moved up to 4 p.m. from the previously scheduled time because of the possibility for rain later in the evening.
 
Tuesday's game can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 FM. The radio broadcast is also available online, in addition to the Lions Gameday Experience, Radio FX and TuneIn apps. Fans can keep up with all the action through live statistics or by following @SLUathletics on Twitter.
 
The SEC Network+, available on www.WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app, will provide a video stream of the game. Web links to audio, video and stats are available on the baseball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
 
Nathan Pilutti, a senior outfielder from Destrehan, Louisiana, leads the Lions and the Southland Conference in batting average (.636), base hits (7), on-base percentage (.733) and stolen bases (4). Preston Faulkner, a sophomore from Denham Springs, Louisiana, is also enjoying a hot start to the season, batting .400 and driving in six runs through the first three games.
 
Southeastern is hitting .313 collectively, with six doubles, two triples, one home run and six stolen bases. The Lion pitching staff has worked to a combined 11.33 ERA through three games, striking out 21 batters in 27 innings. Opponents are hitting .346 off Southeastern pitching.

Tuesday the Lions are slated to start sophomore left-hander Trey Shaffer (0-0, 0.00) on the mound opposite LSU freshman right-hander Cole Henry (0-0, 0.00).
 
Josh Smith (.667), Daniel Cabrera (.500) and Saul Garza (.444) lead the Tigers at the plate. Antoine Duplantis has driven in a team-high 10 runs and is tied for the team-lead with a pair of home runs.
 
LSU is hitting .349 as a team, with nine doubles, six home runs and one stolen base. Tiger pitchers have a 4.67 staff ERA, striking out 29 batters in 27 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .248 off LSU pitching in 2019.
 
Southeastern returns home Friday to host Stony Brook in the opener of a three-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
