HAMMOND, La. –
The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team returns home for the first time in 20 days Friday night when they host SUNO at 7 p.m. at the University Center.

The Lions (2-6) are looking to break a four-game skid after falling to Tulsa, Austin Peay State, Vanderbilt and UL Lafayette on the road.

Southeastern competed well in all four games taking Tulsa, Austin Peay State and Vanderbilt to the brink. SLU led Tulsa 60-59 with under five minutes to go before falling 73-66. The Lions jumped out to a big lead on Austin Peay, 38-24, in the first half and led 60-59 with 8:30 to go but didn't score the rest of the game falling, 81-60. SLU also battled Vanderbilt valiantly as the Lions opened the game on 10-3 run. The game was tied at 42-42 with 15:32 remaining before the Commodores held on for a 78-70 win.

Southeastern opened Tuesday's game against the Ragin' Cajuns on fire taking a 38-24 lead with 6:30 left in the first half. UL Lafayette rallied back finishing the first half on a 19-4 run to take a 43-42 lead at halftime. UL Lafayette pulled away in the second half for a 98-81 win over the Lions. Sophomore Ty Brewer led SLU with 23 points on 9-for-15 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds.

SUNO (2-6) comes into Friday's matchup against the Lions with some momentum following a pair of wins over LSU Alexandria and Texas College.

The Knights have four players averaging in double figures led by senior Ray Anderson (6-7, 200, F). The Harvey, Louisiana native is scoring 13.4 points a game while also snatching 7.7 rebounds a contest. Senior Chris Mark (5-11, 170, G, New Orleans, Louisiana) is providing the Knights with a viable second scoring option adding 12.4 points a game. Freshmen Isiah Lewis (6-3, 200, F, New Orleans) and Dandrick Green (5-10, 145, G, Slidell, Louisiana) are adding 11.1 and 10.4 respectively.

Southeastern leads the all-time series against the Knights 3-0 including a 106-77 win Dec. 14, 2017 over Friday's counterparts. The Lions had six players score in double figures led by former Lion Jordan Capps with 25 points.

After Friday's contest, the Lions will have 12 days off before returning to action Wednesday, Dec. 18 as they open Southland Conference play at Lamar at 7 p.m.
