HAMMOND, La. – With a Southland Conference Tournament bid within reach, Southeastern Louisiana heads out on the road for a pair of conference volleyball matches.
The Lady Lions (12-14, 6-6 Southland) travel to Lake Charles, Louisiana for a 6:30 p.m. Thursday match at McNeese (10-14, 3-9 Southland) and then head to Beaumont, Texas for a 1 p.m. contest Saturday at Lamar (8-15, 3-10 Southland).
Live stats are available for both matches and McNeese will provide streaming video of Thursday's contest. Links for live stats and video can be found on the volleyball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern sits tied for sixth in the conference standings with tournament-host Central Arkansas (12-13, 6-6 Southland). The top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the Southland Tournament, Nov. 22-24.
One game back, in eighth place, lies New Orleans (12-15, 5-8 Southland). Nicholls (10-13, 4-8 Southland) sits two games back of the Lady Lions and one out of the last tournament spot. McNeese and Abilene Christian (5-17, 3-9 Southland) are three games back of Southeastern with four Southland matches remaining in the regular season.
The Lady Lions magic number to clinch a bid is three. Any combination of three Lady Lion wins or losses by Nicholls, McNeese, ACU and Lamar are needed to eliminate each of the four opponents from catching Southeastern.
