\HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team's concludes its five-game road trip to open the season on Sunday, traveling to ULM for a 2 p.m. contest in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The Lady Lions (0-4) and the host Warhawks (1-3) will face off on ESPN+. The game can also be heard on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the TuneIn Radio and Lions Game Day Experience apps.

Southeastern will be looking to break into the winner's circle for the first time in 2019-20, as SLU has suffered competitive losses to Houston (78-65), Southern Miss (62-54), UL Lafayette (60-50) and LSU (62-52).

SLU got off to a good start and finished strong in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers in Baton Rouge. However, a nearly 10-minute scoring drought was too much for the Lady Lions to overcome despite a 23-12 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter.

Jyar Francis led SLU with 17 points at LSU, while Alexius Horne chipped in with 14 points and a game-high seven assists. Southeastern forced the Tigers into 19 turnovers, while only committing 10, as Celica Sterling led the Lady Lions with four steals. Horne and Aminat Jubril each grabbed six boards for Southeastern in the loss.

Southeastern is averaging 55.3 points per game through the season's first four games and must improve on its 36.7 field goal percentage in order to end its losing skid. Francis leads the team with 15.0 points per game and is joined in double figures by Sterling (10.5 ppg) and Horne (10.3 ppg). Horne also paces the roster with 4.5 assists per game.

Jubril (6.3 rpg) and Williams (5.7 rpg) are the top rebounders for a Lady Lion team that has a minus-7.8 rebounding margin. Opponents are averaging 65.5 points and 19.3 turnovers per outing versus SLU, as Horne and Sterling sit atop the team with nine and eight steals, respectively.

"We've seen progress, but we need to play for a full four quarters," Southeastern head coach Ayla Guzzardo said. "We've been executing well and getting good looks, but we've not been able to score the ball consistently for a full 40 minutes and that's what it will take on Sunday."

ULM opened the season with losses to Ole Miss (66-42), Tennessee Tech (75-68) and Southern Miss (57-42) before defeating Northwestern State, 63-54, on Monday. Lauren Fitch led the Warhawks to victory with a team-high 15 points in the win over the Lady Demons.

Fitch (16.0 ppg) is the lone ULM player averaging in double figures, as the Warhawks come into Sunday's contest scoring at 53.8 point per game clip. Fitch and Diamond Brooks are averaging 6.3 rebounds per game to share the team lead.

Southeastern is 12-21 all-time versus its former Southland rival. Last season in Hammond, SLU battled to a 49-42 victory in the University Center. Sterling led the Lady Lions with 17 points, while Fitch had a team-high 13 points off the bench for the Warhawks. The Lady Lions won the defensive struggle, by holding ULM to 29.2 percent (14-for-48) shooting from the field.
