HAMMOND, La.  – The Southeastern Louisiana football team looks to win the Southland Conference championship and earn a spot in the NCAA FCS playoffs, the Lady Lion volleyball team competes in the Southland Conference Tournament, while the men's and women's basketball teams will continue non-conference play on the road during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
No. 23 Southeastern (7-3, 6-2 Southland) will host No. 24 Nicholls at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Strawberry Stadium with the winner clinching no less than a share of the Southland Conference title and earning an automatic berth in the NCAA FCS playoffs, which open November 30.
 
The 29^th River Bell Classic will be televised on Cox Sports Television and on ESPN+ outside of the CST area. The contest can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Lions Game Day Experience and TuneIn Radio apps.
 
Thursday will also be Senior Day at Strawberry Stadium. The Lions will be honored prior to Thursday's contest.
 
The SLU-Nicholls game will also feature Military Appreciation Day. All military personnel will receive two free tickets with a valid ID.
 
In preparation for Thursday's showdown, SLU head coach Frank Scelfo and Nicholls head coach Tim Rebowe will speak at the New Orleans Quarterback Club luncheon on Tuesday at noon at Rock'n'Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans.
 
Annual membership to the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club is $50 per person, which includes a discounted $20 lunch from Rock'n'Bowl and Ye Olde College Inn. Non-members are also welcome to attend each week for $30.
 
The Lady Lion volleyball team (14-16, 8-8 Southland) will compete in the league tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday in Conway, Arkansas, for the first time since 2016. SLU, which has made one of the nation's most significant turnarounds under first-year head coach Jeremy White, will be the No. 7 seed in the postseason tournament and will face No. 2 seed Sam Houston State at 11 a.m. in Friday's first round.
 
A win on Friday would send Southeastern to Saturday's 12 p.m. semifinals. The championship match is set for Sunday at 3:05 p.m. with an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament on the line. The first two days will air on the Southland Digital Network at www.southland.org/live with the championship match scheduled for ESPN+.
 
The Southeastern men's basketball team (2-2) will open a four-game road swing this week. On Wednesday, the Lions travel to Tulsa for a 7 p.m. contest. On Saturday, Austin Peay hosts the Lions on ESPN+ at 4 p.m.
 
The Lady Lions women's basketball team (0-3) will close out its season-opening five-game road trip with a pair of games against in-state foes this week. On Wednesday, Southeastern travels to LSU for a 6:30 p.m. game on SEC Network+. ULM hosts SLU on Sunday for a 2 p.m. matinee.
 
Both of this week's men's basketball games and Sunday's women's basketball game will air on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Lions Game Day and TuneIn Radio apps.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football With Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at Tope La Catering in downtown Hammond. Seniors Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund and Chason Virgil will be Monday's special guests.  
 
Hosted by Scelfo, the Lions' second-year head coach, and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show airs weekly from Tope La Catering, located at 113 East Thomas Street every Monday at 7 p.m. through Nov. 18.
 
The show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR).
