HAMMOND, La. – Three members of the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field teams will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary Round during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The East Preliminary Round will be held in Lexington, Ky. Wednesday through Saturday. The opening day will see Lions Josh-Ty Brown (shot put, 5:30 p.m.) and Gerrit Visser (hammer throw, 9 a.m.).
Southeastern's lone representative on the women's side – Onyah Favour – will compete in both the 200 (7:45 p.m.) and 400 meters (6:25 p.m.) in Thursday's first round. Should she qualify for the quarterfinals Saturday, the 400 meters is at 5:50 p.m. and the 200 meters is scheduled for 6:50 p.m.
The top 12 finishers in each East Preliminary Round event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
