HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana football team's 34-0 Southland Conference victory at No. 6/7 Central Arkansas was enough to propel the Lions back in both the STATS FCS and AFCA Coaches Top 25 polls, which were released on Monday.
The Lions were in both polls early this season, before dropping out after consecutive losses to McNeese and UIW. Southeastern's current three-game winning streak has SLU at No. 23 in both polls.
The Lions are joined in the STATS FCS Top 25 by league foes UCA (No. 14) and Nicholls (No. 24), who they are tied atop the league standings with heading into the final two weeks. Sam Houston State, the fourth member of the four-way tie atop the Southland ladder, is receiving votes, as is McNeese.
In the AFCA poll, SLU, UCA (No. 13) and Nicholls (No. 24) are the Southland teams in the Top 25. SHSU is receiving votes.
