THIBODAUX, La. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a Southland Conference match Thursday at rival Nicholls in straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-21, at Stopher Gym.
 
Baton Rouge native Jodi Edo continued her strong offensive play, but it was not enough to carry the Lady Lions (1-13, 0-3 Southland) past Nicholls (3-13, 1-3 Southland).
 
Edo recorded a team-leading nine kills to go along with a season-best .400 attack percentage. Caroline Golden (Mandeville, Louisiana) added five more.
 
Michelle Mirarchi (Plano, Texas) dished out a team-high 13 assists and Haley Baker (Elkton, Maryland) handed out an additional 11 for the Lady Lions. Baker also served up a pair of aces.
 
Tempestt Vaughn (Beaumont, Texas) and Edo each had a hand in three of Southeastern's five blocks. Golden and Lexie Torres (San Antonio, Texas) contributed 11 digs each to the defensive effort.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern continues on its current road trip, traveling to New Orleans (Saturday) and Jackson State (Tuesday) before returning to the University Center for a Southland matchup with Stephen F. Austin (Oct. 4) for National Taco Day.
