WEST POINT, N.Y. – Host Army West Point defeated Southeastern Louisiana in straight sets, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19, Saturday at Gillis Field House, wrapping up the Lady Lions' participation in the Black Knights Invitational.
For the second time in as many days, sophomore transfer
Maddy Katchen (Fox River Grove, Illinois) led Southeastern (1-5) on offense. Katchen recorded eight kills and posted a team-best .400 attack percentage.
Caroline Golden and
Sam Gomez, both from Mandeville, Louisiana, contributed seven and five kills, respectively.
Michelle Mirarchi handed out 10 assists and
Haley Baker dished out an additional eight for the Lady Lions. Mirarchi also served up a pair of aces.
Gomez had a hand in three of Southeastern's match-high six team blocks.
Lexie Torres (San Antonio, Texas) led the Lady Lions with 10 digs. Mirarchi contributed nine digs and Golden chipped in another six to aid the defensive effort.
The Black Knights compiled a .259 attack percentage as a team, while Southeastern converted at a .161 clip on offense.
UP NEXT
Southeastern remains on the road next week, traveling to Jackson State for a non-conference match Tuesday at 6 p.m.
