HAMMOND, La. –
The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team will play its first game at home in three weeks Monday night. SLU will face California Baptist University at approximately 7:30 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of SLU vs. ULM women at 5:30 p.m., in the second half of a double-header.
 
The Lions (4-5) are looking to rebound from Wednesday's 69-47 loss against Ole Miss in Jackson, Mississippi. Despite the loss, SLU got 20 points and six rebounds from senior Moses Greenwood. The Sharon, Mississippi native is shooting 66 percent from the field (47-for-71) in his last five games. The Velma Jackson graduate moved into 14th place in SLU's all-time scoring list with 1,093 career points. Greenwood continues to lead the team in points (16.2 ppg) and rebounds (7.8 rpg)
 
Southeastern also got a boost from senior Quinton Thomas who scored eight points against the Rebels. SLU is still searching for a third scoring option to complement Greenwood and senior Marlain Veal (13.4 ppg).  Veal, the New Orleans, Louisiana native, leads the Lions in assists (45), steals (19) and free throws made (37).
 
SLU comes into Monday game against CBU with a seven-game home winning streak dating back to Jan. 31, 2018 when the Lions lost to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 67-54 at the University Center.
 
The Lancers (5-5), under sixth-year head coach Rick Croy, are in their first season at the Divison-I ranks after finishing the 2017-18 season 28-6 and advanced to the Division-II Elite Eight. CBU is led by sophomore transfer from Washington State, Milan Acquaah. The Bakersfield, California native leads the Lancers in scoring (21.2 ppg). The 6-3, 195-pound guard also leads the team in assists (36), steals (22) and three-pointers made (27).
 
Senior Jordan Heading is one of two returning starters for Cal Baptist. The Australia native was second on the team in scoring a year (14.3 ppg) and is second through ten games this year (12.1). Also returning for CBU is senior forward De'jon Davis. The Oakland, California native is averaging 11.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.       
 
After Monday's match-up with CBU, the Lions will embark on a pair of road games at Grambling State in Grambling, Louisiana Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Southeastern will, then, play at Bradley University Saturday afternoon in Peoria, Illinois at 1 p.m.
 
The Lions will wrap up the non-conference schedule Saturday, Dec. 29 at home against UL Lafayette at 4 p.m.

SEASON OF GIVING
Southeastern Louisiana Athletics, the Southeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs will hold a food drive throughout the months of November and December.
