LAKE CHARLES, La. – Despite building early momentum after claiming the first set Thursday, Southeastern Louisiana dropped a Southland Conference volleyball match at McNeese, 25-27, 25-12, 25-21, 26-24, in Memorial Gym.
McNeese (9-21, 7-8 Southland), powered by 16 total blocks, defeated the Lady Lions (2-26, 1-14 Southland) for the second time in as many matches, winning the season series.

Haley Baker helped pace the Lady Lions.
Purcell posted a season high in kills (16), points (17) and digs (9) while Baker turned a season-best 42 assists and three service aces.
Sam Gomez, a sophomore from Mandeville, Louisiana, contributed a season-high 10 kills. Gomez and fellow sophomore
Tempestt Vaughn each had a hand in four of the Lady Lions' eight total blocks.

Lexie Torres also contributed nine digs to the defensive effort.

Southeastern concludes its 2018 season Saturday with a Southland Conference volleyball match at Lamar. First serve against the Cardinals (6-20, 3-12 Southland) is slated for 10 a.m. at McDonald Gym in Beaumont, Texas.
