HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a hard-fought volleyball match to Northwestern State, 25-21, 25-23, 26-24, Saturday in Southland Conference action at the University Center.
 
The Lady Lions (2-22, 1-10 Southland) endured 11 lead changes and 21 tie scores during the match, leading for a majority of the third set against Northwestern State (9-12, 5-6 Southland).
 
Jodi Edo (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) led Southeastern with nine kills while Caroline Golden (Mandeville, Louisiana) added eight.
 
Middle blockers Sam Gomez (Mandeville) and Tempestt Vaughn (Beaumont, Texas) combined for 12 kills and just one attack error. Vaughn served up the Lady Lions' only ace, while Gomez had a hand in two of the team's three blocks.
 
Haley Baker, a senior from Elkton, Maryland dished out 27 assists. She currently sits in sixth place in program history with 2,054 career assists.
 
Alexis Pratt (Houston, Texas) led the squad with 18 digs.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Lions' final homestand of the 2018 season concludes with a pair of conference matches this coming week at the University Center, Thursday at 7 p.m. against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Saturday at 10 a.m. against Houston Baptist.
 
The match against HBU, which is also Senior Day, has been moved up from its original time to accommodate the change in kickoff for Southeastern's football game that afternoon against McNeese.
 
Admission to both contests is free and fans are asked to enter the arena down the ramp at Gate 3. Volleyball posters and magnet schedules will be available in the Fan Zone.
