HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up its current road trip Tuesday at 6 p.m. with a non-conference match against Southern Miss at Reed Green Coliseum.
The Lady Lions (2-20) step outside of Southland Conference action for the final time this season to face Southern Miss (11-12). The Golden Eagles dropped a conference match Saturday at Florida International after winning the first two sets.

Southern Miss defeated the Lady Lions last season in straight sets at the University Center.
OPPONENT NOTES
- Kyle Grandy (4.28 kills/set), Catherine Repsher (2.47 k/s), Chandler Marshall (2.37 k/s) and Sarah Bell (10.88 assists/set) pace the Golden Eagles' offensive attack. Grandy also leads the squad with 28 service aces.
- Southern Miss is hitting .230 collectively, holding opponents to a .195 attack percentage.
- Madison Lawler (3.37 digs/set) and Bell (3.23 d/set) are the Golden Eagles top defenders along the back line. Alexis Coombs (1.05 blocks/set), Repsher (0.92 b/s) and Ashley Berry (0.79 b/s) lead the blocking corps.
SLU NOTES
- Jodi Edo (1.97 k/s), Caroline Golden (1.85 k/s), Elyssa Purcell (1.83) and Maddy Katchen (1.65 k/s) lead the Lady Lions' offense under the direction of setters Haley Baker (4.22 a/s) and Michelle Mirarchi (3.68 a/s). A sophomore from Mandeville, Louisiana, Golden leads the squad with 16 service aces.
- Southeastern has recorded a .132 attack percentage this season, while opponents are hitting .268 against the Lady Lion defense.
- Lexie Torres (2.99 d/s), Golden (2.40 d/s) and Alexis Pratt (2.13 d/s) anchor the defense along the back line. Sam Gomez (0.86 b/s) and Tempestt Vaughn (0.59 b/s) are Southeastern's top blocking threats.
LAST MATCH
The offense was clicking early for Southeastern, but Abilene Christian rallied Saturday for a 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20, Southland Conference win at Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas.
The Lady Lions took the first set off second-place ACU (12-10, 9-1 Southland), swinging at a .345 clip. The Wildcats rebounded to out-hit Southeastern the rest of the way.
Golden picked up a team-leading 12 kills while Purcell turned in 10 and Edo (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) added another 9 kills. Baker handed out 33 assists.
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns to the University Center for its final homestand of the season Saturday against Northwestern State. First serves is scheduled for 1 p.m. Conference matches against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 1) and Houston Baptist (Nov. 3) wrap up the home slate for the 2018 season.
