HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a Southland Conference volleyball match in straight sets Saturday at Sam Houston State, 25-7, 25-20, 25-18, in Johnson Coliseum.
The Lady Lions (2-15, 0-4 Southland) rebounded from a sluggish start, but could not get past Sam Houston State (7-9, 4-0 Southland). It was the fifth straight loss for Southeastern.
Redshirt sophomore
Elyssa Purcell (Alvin, Texas) led the Lady Lions with eight kills and her .174 attack percentage was a team high (eight or more attempts).
Freshman setter
Michelle Mirarchi (Plano, Texas) paced Southeastern in assists (16) and digs (14), turning in the first double-double performance of her career. Her dig total set a career high, topping the 13 she posted at Alabama State.
UP NEXT
Southeastern stays on the road, traveling to UL Lafayette for a non-conference match Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before returning home to host Houston Baptist (Oct. 5).
