LAFAYETTE, La. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a closely contended match, 29-27, 27-25, 25-14, Tuesday to UL Lafayette at Earl K. Long Gym.
The contest was the final non-conference match of the season for both the Lady Lions (2-16) and UL Lafayette (11-7).
Despite recording its third-best attack percentage of the season (.186), Southeastern could not get over the hump against the Ragin' Cajuns.
The Lady Lions led 23-21 in the first set before UL Lafayette rallied to tie the score, 24-24, on the way to claiming the set. In the second set, Southeastern built a 23-19 lead, but again the Ragin' Cajuns rallied to tie it up, 24-24, before taking the two-set advantage.
Southeastern has dropped its last six matches since a win over Jackson State at the Maroon Classic in Starkville, Mississippi.
