STARKVILLE, Miss. – Behind a season-high .318 attack percentage, the Southeastern Louisiana volleyball squad swept past Jackson State, 25-15, 25-17, 25-23, at the Maroon Classic to earn its second win of the season Friday in the Newell-Grissom Building.
A balanced attack by the Lady Lions (2-10) proved tough for Jackson State (1-12) to handle.
Sophomores
Savannah Alcazar (League City, Texas) and
Chloee Holden (Alvin, Texas) led the team with eight kills each. Sophomore
Jodi Edo (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and freshman
Sam Gomez (Mandeville, Louisiana) contributed seven kills apiece.
Junior
Haley Baker (Elkton, Maryland) handed out 22 assists, directing the attack, while freshman
Michelle Mirarchi (Plano, Texas) added an additional 10 assists.
For the second straight match, Alcazar led the team in digs (8).
Opposite the best offensive match of the season, the Lady Lions limited their opponent to a season-low .090 attack percentage.
Earlier in the day, Southeastern dropped a four-set decision to North Texas (10-1), 25-14, 25-20, 23-25, 25-18.
