STARKVILLE, Miss. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up its regular season volleyball tournament action this weekend at the Maroon Classic in Newell-Grissom Building.
 
The Lady Lions (1-9) face North Texas (9-1) at 10 a.m. Friday and Jackson State (1-10) later in the day at 5 p.m. Live stats are available for both matches.
 
Southeastern faces tournament host Mississippi State (7-5) at 11 a.m. Saturday. Live stats are available for the match, which will be carried live on the SEC Network+. Links for stats and streaming video can be found on the volleyball schedule page at www.LionSports.net
 
After dropping their home opener Tuesday to Southern Miss, the Lady Lions are looking to snap a three-match skid as they enter play this weekend.

• Savannah Alcazar (2.05 points per set, 1.79 kills per set), a sophomore from League City, Texas, and Chloee Holden (1.97 p/set, 1.75 k/set), a sophomore from Alvin, Texas, are Southeastern's top two scorers and attackers.
• Alcazar and Holden lead seven Lady Lions averaging at least one kill per set.
• Southeastern is averaging 9.64 kills with a .093 attack percentage, 8.79 assists, 12.39 digs and 1.36 blocks per set. Opponents are averaging 13.45 kills with a .252 attack percentage, 12.61 assists, 14.97 digs and 2.32 blocks per set.

Jackson State: Lady Tigers have a 1-1 record against the Southland this season, defeating Nicholls, 3-1, and getting swept by Northwestern State … brings a nine-match losing streak into the Maroon Classic … Jackson State is averaging 9.30 kills with a .089 attack percentage, 8.35 assists, 12.24 digs and 1.68 blocks per set.
 
Mississippi State: Former Central Arkansas head coach David McFatrich is in his third season at the helm of the Bulldog program … Mississippi State has compiled a 1-2 record against Southland Conference competition this season, defeating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 3-2, and getting swept by both Stephen F. Austin and McNeese … defeated future Southeastern opponent UL Lafayette, 3-2, last time out … Jelena Vujcin (3.67 k/set) and Khristian Carr (3.48 k/set) lead the Bulldog attack … Mississippi State is averaging 12.27 kills on a .203 attack percentage, 11.62 assists, 13.18 digs and 1.78 blocks per set.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home to open Southland Conference play Thursday at 7 p.m. against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the University Center.
 
The match will feature the annual Dig the Lions student promotion, featuring free t-shirts for the first 200 Southeastern students in attendance.
