BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ohio rolled through the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational undefeated, knocking off Southeastern Louisiana in three sets, 25-18, 25-18, 25-20, Saturday at the Pete Hanna Center.
The Lady Lions (0-3) fared better offensively against Ohio (3-0) than they did in a pair of matches on the opening day of the tournament, but the Bobcats also turned in the best offensive performance of the three tournament teams against Southeastern.
Late surges by the Bobcats in all three sets paced Ohio to the sweep.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Chloee Holden, a sophomore outside hitter from Alvin, Texas, was named to the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging a team-best 18 kills (2.00 per set) and .279 attack percentage in the the Lady Lions' three matches.

- Holden (seven kills) and Savannah Alcazar (six kills), a sophomore from League City, Texas, led the Southeastern offensive attack. Haley Baker, a junior from Elkton, Maryland, dished out 14 assists. Lexie Torres, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, led the Lady Lions in services aces (two) and digs (six). Alcazar threw up a team-high three blocks.
- Turning in their best offensive performance of the tournament in the match's initial set (.250 attack percentage), the Lady Lions kept the first set within a couple points until Ohio scored 10 of the final 14 to claim the set.
UP NEXT
The Lady Lions return to action Sept. 1-2 at the BGSU / UT Invitational, playing matches in a pair of Ohio cities. Southeastern faces host Toledo at 10 a.m. Friday and VCU at 10 a.m. Saturday. Both matches will be played at Savage Arena in Toldeo, Ohio. Later Saturday, the Lady Lions travel to face Bowling Green at 6 p.m. at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
