HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's golf team returns to a staple of its spring schedule, the fifth annual Old Waverly Intercollegiate, this week at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The Lions have competed in each of the previous four tournaments, which is hosted by Mississippi State, finishing fourth in the inaugural one in 2013.
The first two rounds of this year's tournament are slated to get underway Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final round concludes on Tuesday. Live results, provided by Mississippi State, will be accessible at the Southeastern golf schedule page at

Southeastern, ranked 150th in the latest Golfstat rankings, will be joined in the field by host Mississippi State, McNeese, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, No. 24 Mississippi, No. 34 Lipscomb, No. 41 Kennesaw State, Southern Miss, Chattanooga, South Alabama, Memphis, Kansas State, South Florida, Cincinnati and Rice.

James Anstiss and
Gustavo Leon and sophomores
William Meyers and
Joris Etlin will be the starting five for the Lions.
Southeastern will be looking to finish strong down the stretch with the Southland Conference Championships scheduled for April 24-26. The Lions are coming off a pair of double-digit finishes at the Louisiana Classics (14
th) and UTSA/Lone Star Invitational (13
th) in their past two tournaments. Anstiss led the squad at UTSA with a tie for 43
rd at 2-over-par 218.
"We're looking for a turnaround after two lackluster outings," Southeastern head coach
Jake Narro said. "I'm expecting a good finish."
Southeastern has traditionally done well on the par-72, 7,088-yard course. The Lions have finished no lower than eighth in their four previous trips, taking sixth in 2016. Obermann tied for 12
th at 3-over 219 in last year's tournament. Anstiss finished in a tie for 17
th at 5-over 221 with Meyers tied for 28
th at 8-over 224.
Southeastern will be back in action next Monday at the Jim West Intercollegiate in Austin, Texas.
