HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana closes out its non-conference home schedule Saturday when the Lions welcome Grambling State to the University Center for a 2 p.m. tip-off.

The Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office and Southeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will collect non-perishable food items at the Gate 3 entrance to the University Center. The items will be donated to the Tangi Food Pantry, a non-profit organization that provides nutritious groceries to over 44,000 individuals and families in need.
Southeastern had a number of season and career highs set in rolling to a 106-77 non-conference victory over Southern (New Orleans) Thursday night. Senior forward
Jordan Capps had season highs with 25 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard
Jabbar Singleton set a career high with 23 points while junior guard
Marlain Veal tied a career best with 10 assists. Junior forward
Moses Greenwood had his fifth career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard
Joshua Filmore added 14 points, senior forward
James Currington 12 and senior guard
Quinton Thomas a career-high 11.
Southeastern shot 50.6 percent overall in scoring 100-plus points for the first time since a 108-69 win over Florida A&M on Dec. 12, 2016.
Saturday's game is the third of five straight road games for Grambling. The Tigers are coming off a tough 59-57 loss at ULM on Tuesday after rallying from a 10-0 deficit to tie the game at 57 on a layup by sophomore forward DeVante Jackson with four seconds left. But ULM, which beat Southeastern 86-75 earlier this season, got the game-winner on a Jordan Harris layup with a second remaining.
Jackson led GSU with 14 points. Sophomore guard Ivy Smith Jr. had a team-high seven assists and five rebounds to go with 11 points while junior forward Axel Mpoyo added 10 points. The Tigers shot 43.2 percent and out-rebounded ULM 29-23.

Southeastern
Southeastern goes into Saturday's game averaging 74.9 points on 43.8 percent shooting overall. The Lions rank fourth in the Southland Conference in 3-point field goal percentage at .353 (82-of-232). Southeastern is allowing 71.2 points per contest on 46.1 percent shooting, including 35.0 percent on 3s.
The Lions are out-rebounding opponents, 36.1-33.6.
Veal leads the conference in assists per game (5.6) while also tying for seventh in steals per game (2.1). He is 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.6) and 20th in scoring (12.3 ppg). Capps leads the Lions and is 16th in the Southland with 13.3 points per game ranking eighth in field goal percentage (.547) and 13th in blocked shots (0.9 bpg). Greenwood has moved up to eighth in the league in rebounding (6.5) while averaging 8.4 points per game. Senior guard
Eddy Polanco (9.7 ppg) is eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (.417) and tied for eighth in free throw percentage (.789).
Filmore is averaging 9.2 points and has 15 assists in sixth games since coming back from an injury.
Veal, Filmore, Capps, Singleton (7.3 ppg, 22 assists) and Currington (8.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg) are the projected starters for the Lions.
This is the first meeting between Southeastern and Grambling since the Lions took a 77-68 win in Hammond on Nov. 17, 1998. Southeastern leads the series 7-2. The Lions won the first six games in the series which dates to 1991. The Tigers broke the streak with a 68-67 win in the University Center in 1996, then came away with a 101-92 win in overtime in Grambling in '97.
Southeastern is 3-1 at home against the Tigers.
The Lions are 2-0 against SWAC schools in 2017-18, having defeated Jackson State 57-51 in an exhibition before defeating Mississippi Valley State 73-59 in the final game of the Savannah Invitational on Nov. 25.
Grambling
Smith, who was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference College Sports Madness Player of the Week on Monday, leads Grambling with 14.9 points per game, 63 assists and 21 steals. Senior combo guard Diontae Jones is averaging 13.4 points and 5.3 rebounds. Mpoyo has a team-high 6.2 rebounds per contest while averaging 12.3 points.
Grambling is averaging 71.6 points on 42.2 percent shooting. Opponents are shooting 49.6 percent in averaging 81.2 points. The Tigers are averaging 33.3 rebounds while allowing 35.6. GSU is also forcing 15.2 turnovers while averaging 14.8.
Projected to start for the Tigers are Smith, Jackson, Mpoyo, senior guard Shirmane Thomas (7.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg) and sophomore guard Anthony Gaston (7.8 ppg).
Donte Jackson is in first season as Grambling's head coach.
