KENT, Ohio – Southeastern Louisiana will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak when the Lions visit Kent State in the Savannah Invitational on Tuesday.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. (Central Time) in the Memorial Athletic & Convocation Center.

Southeastern hung with Valparaiso for 30 minutes in its opening game of the tournament on Sunday before the Crusaders pulled away for an 83-50 victory. The Lions were within 42-38 after a layup by senior guard
Eddy Polanco with 13:37 remaining. It was still 46-40 after two free throws by senior forward
Jordan Capps at the 11:05 mark. But the Crusaders held Southeastern to one field goal in going on a 37-10 run over the final 9:52.
Junior forward
Moses Greenwood led Southeastern with 11 points and seven rebounds. Polanco added 10 points and five boards.
Kent State has rolled to three straight wins to start the season, winning by an average of 30.3 points. The Golden Flashes had four players in double figures in an 80-67 win over Mississippi Valley State to open the Invitational, led by junior guard Jaylin Walker with 19 points. Junior center Adonis De La Rosa had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman forward BJ Duling had 13 points and sophomore forward Danny Pippen 12. Junior guard Jalen Avery dished out 10 assists.

Southeastern is averaging 72.5 points on 40.3 percent shooting from the field, including 35.9 percent on 3-pointers. The Lions are allowing 81.2 points per contest on 51.8 percent shooting, including 40.2 percent on 3s.
Southeastern has a plus-0.5 rebounding margin, averaging 35.5 rebounds while giving up 35.0.
Junior guard
Marlain Veal leads the Lions with 14.0 points per game, 18 assists and nine steals. Polanco is averaging 13.3 points while Greenwood (8.5 ppg) tops the team with 8.3 rebounds per game. He also has a team-high four blocks.

James Currington (6.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, six steals) are the projected starters for the Lions. Capps (9.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg) and Polanco are the top reserves.
This is the first meeting between Southeastern and Kent State. The Lions are 0-2 against current members of the Mid-American Conference, having lost to Northern Illinois in the 1986 Wichita State Shocker Classic and at Toledo in 2016.
Southeastern is playing in Ohio for the third straight year. The Lions lost at Cincinnati, 64-49, in 2015 and at Toledo, 78-56, in 2016.
Kent State
Kent State went 22-14 and captured the Mid-American Conference Tournament title in 2016-17. The 14
th-seeded Golden Flashes lost to third-seeded UCLA, 97-80, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Kent State is averaging 93.7 points while allowing 63.3. The Golden Flashes are shooting 50.0 percent, including 31.7 percent on 3-pointers, while holding opponents to 38.5 and 31.3 percent, respectively. Kent State is also out-rebounding its opponents, 46.0-33.3.
Walker, the 2017 MAC Tournament MVP, is averaging a team-high 17.3 points while recording 10 assists, De La Rosa is averaging a double-double with 16.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. Sophomore guard Mitch Peterson is also in double figures with 11.7 points per game. Avery has 17 assists.
Rob Senderoff is in his seventh season as Kent State's head coach.
