HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana jumped up on top of Lamar through three sets Thursday, but the Cardinals rallied for a nail-biting win in Southland Conference play, 25-16, 27-29, 15-25, 29-27, 17-15, at the University Center.
 
The Lady Lions (2-23, 0-11 Southland) turned in the their second-best offensive performance of the season with
a .235 attack percentage, but it was not enough to fend off Lamar (4-17, 2-9 Southland).
 
Sophomore hitter Savannah Alcazar (League City, Texas) and freshman setter Michelle Mirarchi (Plano, Texas) recorded double-doubles. Alcazar tallied a career-high 21 kills to go along with 13 digs. Mirarchi picked up 13 digs to go with a career-high 24 assists.
 
NOTES

• Redshirt sophomore hitter Elyssa Purcell (Alvin, Texas) also recorded a career best with 19 kills.
• Sophomore hitter Chloee Holden (Alvin, Texas) chipped in 10 kills, reaching double digits for the third time this season.
• Junior setter Haley Baker (Elkton, Maryland) led Southeastern with 33 assists.
• Junior libero Lexie Torres (San Antonio, Texas) posted 18 kills to pace the Lady Lions.
• Freshman defensive specialist Alexis Pratt (Houston, Texas) served up the final 10 points of the third set.

Southeastern wraps up its home schedule Saturday at 1 p.m. against first-place Stephen F. Austin (22-5, 10-1 Southland).
