Ladyjacks Score Twice in 2nd Half to Top Lady Lions

    NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana redshirt-junior midfielder Maggie Ramsey scored her team-high fourth goal of the season but Stephen F. Austin used a pair of second-half goals to pull away to a 3-1 Southland Conference victory Friday night.

    Ramsey tied her season high with five shots on goal for Southeastern (3-8-3, 1-4-2 Southland). Freshman goalkeeper Michaela Hawthorn had six assists.

    Senior Hanna Barker had her team-high seventh goal of the season for SFA (8-6-0, 5-2-0 Southland). Freshman Sophia Fondren scored her second goal and also had a pair of assists, giving her five on the season. Junior Breanna Moore netted her first goal of the year while freshman Katelyn Termini had her second assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Allyson Smith recorded eight saves.

    Barker took a pass from Fondren, turned and launched a shot from the corner of the box past Hawthorn to put the Ladyjacks ahead 2-1 in the 54th minute.

    Fondren made it 3-1 in the 78th minute after lining a shot from just outside the box into the left side of the net following a pass from Termini.

    Ramsey had tied it at 1 in the 34th minute after lofting a shot over Smith.

    SFA took a 1-0 lead when Moore took a pass from Fondren and got past the Lady Lion defense for her first goal of the season.
 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
   Hawthorn saved a shot by Termini in the 10th minute. Barker followed with a header that sailed wide.

    Barker missed wide in the 14th minute.

    Fondren sent a shot wide in the 29th minute.

    Ramsey took the first shot for Southeastern in the 31st minute but had it stopped by Smith.

    Hawthorn denied a shot by senior Madison Hall in the 39th minute.

    Freshman Lauren Prentice hit the crossbar with a shot in the 44th minute.

    Ramsey had a shot saved by Smith in the 47th minute.

    Hawthorn stopped a straight-on shot by Fondren in the 51st minute. She saved another by Barker in the 54th minute and one by Moore in the 57th minute.

    Barker missed wide in the 65th minute.

    Lady Lion freshman forward Jessi Cooper shot wide in the 71st minute.

    Junior defender Sofia Olsson had an attempt saved by Smith in the 73rd minute. Hawthorn countered with a save after freshman Caylon McMillan curved in a shot in the 74th minute.

    Smith saved a pair of shot by Ramsey in the 77th minute.

    Freshman midfielder Gabbi Anderson had a shot denied by Smith in the 84th minute.
 
NOTES
   SFA out-shot Southeastern 20-10 but each team had nine shots on goal.
 
   Ramsey's goal was the redshirt-junior's 21st goal of her career, two outside of the Lady Lions' top 10 list.
 
   It was the first time the Lady Lions allowed more than two goals since a 3-0 loss at South Alabama on Sept. 7. 
 
   Stephen F. Austin extended its lead in the series to 20-10-8.
