TROY, Ala. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a three-set decision Tuesday to Troy, 25-19, 25-20, 25-20, in a non-conference volleyball match at Trojan Arena.
The Lady Lions' (1-2) offense improved throughout the match, but was unable to overcome the attacking Trojans. Troy (2-2) outhit Southeastern .330 to .179 in the contest.
Chloee Holden, a freshman from Alvin, Texas, led the Lady Lions with eight kills.
Savannah Alcazar, a freshman from League City, Texas, and
Parrie Hartley, a senior from Columbus, Texas, each contributed seven kills to the offensive attack.
Haley Baker, a sophomore from Elkton, Maryland, and
Elyssa Purcell, a redshirt freshman from Alvin, each handed out 13 assists.
Hartley led Southeastern with eight digs and libero
Monica Ramon, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, added seven digs.
Jordyn Saulsberry led all players with 12 kills, also chipping in four assists and six digs for the Trojans. Symone Shaw and Reina Terry added seven kills each. Terry turned in a double-double performance, dishing out a match-high 27 assists and picked up 11 digs. Alisha Hinrichs led all players with 12 digs.
Southeastern returns to action Friday at 1 p.m. against host South Alabama in the Jaguar Invitational. The Lady Lions will not return to the University Center until Sept. 22 when they open Southland Conference play against Lamar.
