HAMMOND, La. – Deep into Southland Conference play, Southeastern Louisiana continues its push to qualify for the conference tournament with a pair of upcoming games against in-state rivals Nicholls and McNeese State.
Saturday's doubleheader against the Colonels (7-18, 3-8 Southland) will feature the Cub Club Celebration, as all Cub Club members are invited to join the celebration. Cub Club members are asked to RSVP at (985) 549-3227. Saturday is also men's basketball Alumni Day, as all former players are invited to attend and be recognized at the 4 p.m. conference contest.
Students and campus organizations can also earn points toward their new Lion Up Loyalty account at Saturday's doubleheader just by checking-in on the mobile app while in attendance.
Monday's single game at McNeese (6-15, 4-7 Southland), which will be televised by the American Sports Network and carried locally by Cox Sports TV (Charter 324, 815 HD), is set to tip at 8 p.m. at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The game can also be found nationally on Altitude Sports and Entertainment (DirecTV 681, Dish 413) or the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (DirecTV 640, Dish 432).

Last time out, Central Arkansas used a pair of big runs in the second half to power past Southeastern (5-18, 3-7 Southland), 88-72, this past Tuesday in Southland play at the Farris Center in Conway, Arkansas.
Dimi Cook led the Lions with 15 points, while
Moses Greenwood (12) and
JaMichael Hawkins (11) also cracked double figures.
Jordan Capps and Greenwood each hauled in a team-high seven rebounds.
Zay Jackson, a senior from Hammond, Louisiana, leads Southeastern in scoring this season with an average of 12.1 points per game and is fourth in the Southland Conference with 4.9 assists per game.
Joshua Filmore (9.0 ppg), a junior from Orlando, Florida, Capps (8.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg), Hawkins (8.0 ppg) and
Marlain Veal (7.8 ppg, 3.1 apg), a freshman from Gretna, Louisiana, round out the Lions' top healthy scorers.
This season Southeastern is shooting 45.3 percent (570-of-1257) from the floor, ranking fourth in the Southland. The Lions have hit 34.5 percent (158-of-458) from 3-point range, are 308-of-490 (62.9 percent) from the free throw line and have been out-rebounded by opponents, on average, 36.0-to-33.2 per game.
With victories over McNeese and Incarnate Word, Nicholls has won back-to-back contests for the second time this season.
Ja'Dante' Frye (13.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg), T.J. Carpenter (12.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg) and Liam Thomas (8.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg) are the Colonels' top offensive threats.
Nicholls is shooting 40.8 percent (569-of-1393) from the floor, including 30.2 percent (163-of-539) from 3-point range. The Colonels are 382-of-572 (66.8 percent) from the free throw line and have been out-rebounded by opponents, on average, 40.0-to-33.5 per game.
The Cowboys, who are at Northwestern State Saturday afternoon, are led by Jamaya Burr (14.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.0 apg), Craig McFerrin (10.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg) and Jarren Greenwood (10.1 ppg).
