HAMMOND, La. – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi extended its regular-season conference winning streak to 28-straight matches, sweeping past Southeastern Louisiana, 25-14, 25-11, 25-17, Saturday at the University Center.
The Islanders (15-7, 10-0 Southland) powered past Southeastern (5-18, 4-6 Southland) by shutting down the Lady Lion attack.
Madi Odom, a senior from Kingwood, Texas, led Southeastern with seven kills and seven digs.
Haley Baker, a sophomore from Elkton, Maryland, handed out a team-high 10 assists.
Parrie Hartley, a senior from Columbus, Texas, added four kills, while both
Monica Ramon, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, and
Macey Stock, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, contributed six digs.
Brittany Gilpin led all players with 10 kills, while Morgan Carlson chipped in 9 more for the Islanders.
Kristyn Nicholson handed out a match-high 23 assists. A&M-Corpus Christi libero Kate Klepetka led all players with 12 digs.
Southeastern returns to the court Thursday at Nicholls. With five of their final six regular season matches on the road, the Lady Lions will wrap up the home portion of their schedule at the University Center, Nov. 1, against Central Arkansas.
