HAMMOND, La. – Seven Southeastern Louisiana pitchers combined to give up one earned run, as the Lady Lion softball team rolled to an 11-2 victory over Copiah-Lincoln Community College in a 10-inning exhibition game Wednesday night at North Oak Park.
With the victory, SLU improved to 5-1 this fall. The Lady Lions collected 11 hits on the way to the win with production throughout the batting order.
Freshman Mattie Ort continued her impressive fall at the plate, as the Walker, Louisiana native led Southeastern with three hits. Junior Maddie Edmonston, junior Kalyn Watts and freshman Ali McCoy each tripled in the win.
Edmonston and junior Mahalia Gibson had two RBI apiece for Southeastern, while Ort, Watts and junior Jaci Lavigne each were credited with one run each.

Jaquelyn Ramon, junior Alli Daigle and freshmen Ashten Graves also scored runs for Southeastern.

Caitlyn VanHemelryck and junior Rachel Hayes all held Co-Lin scoreless on Wednesday. Junior Lacey Hill gave up the only earned run, but led Southeastern with four strikeouts in two innings of work. Senior
Kasey Nielson allowed an unearned run in the 10
th, but closed out the win.
Southeastern will close out the fall on Wednesday, Oct. 19 with a pair of exhibition games. The Lions will face Faulkner State Community College at 3 p.m. before closing the fall with a 5 p.m. contest versus East Central Community College.
