ABILENE, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a Southland Conference match in four sets at Abilene Christian, 25-14, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, Saturday in Moody Coliseum.
The Lady Lions (2-13, 1-2 Southland) battled back to take the third set and avoid a sweep, but could not hold off an upstart ACU (4-15, 3-1 Southland) squad.
Landry Bullock, a senior from Spring, Texas, led all players with 15 kills.
Parrie Hartley, a senior from Columbus, Texas added eight kills and senior
Rachael Bunn, a senior from San Juan Capistrano, chipped in seven kills for Southeastern.
Elyssa Purcell, a redshirt freshman from Alvin, Texas, turned in a double-double performance, handing out 19 assists and contributing 11 digs.
Haley Baker, a sophomore from Elkton, Maryland, also dished out 19 assists for the Lady Lions.
Monica Ramon, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, led Southeastern with 18 digs, and
Macey Stock, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, picked up another 11 digs.
Lauren Walker (11) and Lexi Mercier (10) led the Wildcats in kills, while Kendall Bosse (17 assists) and Makenzie Kesler (13 assists) split setting duties.
ACU libero Amanda Chapa led all players with 28 digs.
Southeastern steps outside of conference play for the final time during the regular season with a match Wednesday at UL Lafayette (5-12). The Lady Lions' next home match is Oct. 8 at the University Center against in-state rival New Orleans.
