CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team dropped its Southland Conference opener Thursday at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 25-18, 25-14, 25-14.
Southeastern (6-8, 0-1 Southland) struggled against the A&M-Corpus Christi (13-4, 2-0 Southland) offense, which recorded a .359 attack percentage in the match.
Madi Odom led the Lady Lions with nine kills and
Veronica Turk chipped in an additional eight.
Mikayla Shippy handed out a team-high 14 assists.
Brooke Balser and
Monica Ramon each recorded 11 digs.
Ivy Baresh led the Islanders with 11 kills. Britany Gilpin added nine kills and had a hand in five of the team's six blocks. Kristyn Nicholson posted 33 assists. Kate Klepetka's 13 digs led all players.
Southeastern matches up against Houston Baptist (8-7, 1-0 Southland) at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Huskies defeated the University of New Orleans, 3-1, Thursday evening in each school's conference opener.
