BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball squad held off a scrappy Southern team in five sets Tuesday at Seymour Gym, 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-7.
Southeastern (4-6) won for the second-straight match, knocking off the Lady Jaguars (0-11) to start a string of three-consecutive matches against Southwestern Athletic Conference competition.
Four Lady Lions recorded double-digit kills in a balanced offensive attack.

Brooke Balser recorded 17 digs and
Monica Ramon added an additional 13 for Southeastern, which tallied 74 as a team. The Lady Lions also posted a season-high 14 team blocks with Bunn having a hand in seven of them.
Shauntia Carr (12), Chinasa Ekweariri (12) and Melodie Malone (11) led Southern in kills. Vaterra Calais handed out 33 assists. Diamond Williams led all players with 36 digs and Malone added another 16 for a double-double.
Southeastern will have its final tuneup before Southland Conference play begins with three matches at the University of Houston's Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup this coming weekend. The Lady Lions face Alabama A&M and Prairie View A&M on Friday and the host Cougars on Saturday.
