BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana baseball team wraps up its non-conference slate Wednesday at 6 p.m., taking on Southern at Lee-Hines Field.
Southeastern (36-13), which is coming off a three-game sweep of Lamar this past weekend, defeated Southern (16-22) earlier this season in Hammond, Louisiana, 11-3.

Jacob Seward (.378),
Kevin Carr (.331),
Kennon Menard (.331),
Carson Crites (.322) and
Daniel Midyett (.320) lead Southeastern at the plate. Seward tops the Southland in batting average, runs scored (44) and on-base percentage (.470). Midyett's 39 RBIs lead the conference as well. Seward and
Ryan Byers lead the team with 14 stolen bases each.
The Lions are hitting a conference-best .306 as a team and have been successful on 71-of-97 stolen base attempts, also tops in the conference. The pitching staff has compiled a 3.44 ERA, fanning 401 batters in 431.2 innings pitched.
Junior right-hander
Pat Cashman (3-4, 3.71) draws the starting nod for Southeastern. He matches up with righty Santos Saldivar (3-6, 2.74) for the Jaguars.
D.J. Wallace (.352), Tyler Kirksey (.333) and Rivers Frederick (.313) lead Southern at the plate. Jose DeLa Torre owns a team-high 10 home runs and 40 RBIs. Kirksey's 13 stolen bases lead the squad.
The Jaguars are hitting .274 as a team and have been successful on 51-of-69 stolen base attempts. The pitching staff has compiled a 5.67 ERA, fanning 292 batters in 330 innings of work.
Southern is coming off a three-game sweep of Grambling State this past weekend.
Southeastern returns to Southland Conference play Friday at 6 p.m. against Central Arkansas in the opener of a three-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
