Weather Forces Changes To Baseball Series With Northwestern

Friday game pushed back to 7 p.m., finale moved up for Saturday DH

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern opens a season-high five game homestand Friday at 7 p.m. against Northwestern University (Big 10) at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

The series opener against the Wildcats (1-6) has been pushed back an hour to accommodate a change in Northwestern's flight plans due to weather in the Chicago, Illinois, area.

With rain expected in the Hammond area later in the weekend, Sunday's contest has been pushed up a day as part of a doubleheader on Saturday to wrap up the series. Season ticket holders are asked to bring both their Saturday and Sunday tickets with them to the doubleheader.

All general admission tickets for Friday's game are $5. Saturday's general admission tickets will be $12 for adults, $8 for youth, and will be good for both games of the doubleheader.

Saturday's first game, which includes baseball-themed bingo, is slated for 2 p.m. The game is also part of the Great American Spit Out. The series finale will begin approximately 45 minutes after the completion of the day's first game.

Friday's game can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 FM, online and either the KSLU or TuneIn Radio smartphone apps. There will be no radio coverage of Saturday's doubleheader.

Fans can keep up with the series through live statistics or by following SLUathletics on Twitter. Streaming video is available on LionVision, Southeastern's subscription-based video stream. Links for audio, video, stats and tickets are available on the baseball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Tate Scioneaux (0-1, 7.50), a junior right-hander from Reserve, Louisiana, draws the series opening nod for the Lions. He matches up with fellow righty Brandon Magallones (0-0, 2.25) for the Wildcats.

To open Saturday's doubleheader, the Lions will send junior right-hander Jake Johnson (2-0, 0.00) to the mound against Northwestern southpaw Reed Mason (0-2, 9.90). Junior left-hander Kyle Cedotal (1-1, 3.48) draws the starting nod for Southeastern in the series finale against Wildcat left-hander Matt Portland (0-2, 2.25).
