Hammond, La. – Southeastern Louisiana had its best offensive performance of the season but ULM held the Lady Lions off in the final three minutes for an 88-84 non-conference win in the University Center Sunday afternoon.

Nanna Pool led Southeastern (0-7) with a career-high 25 points while adding 15 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Taylin Underwood added 17 points to go with a career-best eight rebounds and seven assists.
Gabriella Delaune also had career-highs with 10 points and four assists while tying her career best with five rebounds.
Peaches Anderson set a career-high with five assists to go with 10 points while
Erica Hernandez tied her career mark with five assists while scoring nine points.

The Lady Lions shot a season-high 48 percent from the field and 50 percent on 3s while finishing with 27 assists and winning the rebounding battle 42-39.

ULM (4-1) also had balanced scoring as Alayshia Hunter led four Warhawks in double figures with 22 points, going 12-of-12 from the free throw line. ULM shot 82.4 percent (28-of-34) on free throws, compared to 54.5 (6-of-11) for Southeastern.

Chelsea Tieuel came off the bench to score 21 points for the Warhawks. Andreanna Jackson added 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds and five assists while Daja Chase had 14 points while grabbing seven boards.

There were 10 lead changes and 11 ties in the game, including four lead changes and six ties in the second half. Southeastern took its final lead at 80-78 on a jumper by Delaune with 3:21 remaining. Tieuel answered with a 3-pointer 15 seconds later, then grabbed a steal that led to two Hunter free throws that gave the Warhawks an 83-80 lead with 2:47 left.

Pool hit a jumper with 2:35 left and Hernandez followed with a steal but could not convert the layup. Jackson then hit a jumper to make it 85-82 with 2:03 remaining. Anderson's two free throws cut the deficit back to one with 27 seconds left. After a free throw by Tieuel, Delaune tried to work the ball inside but had it stolen by Tieuel who was fouled and hit two free throws with 5 seconds left.

"It was a hard-fought game," Southeastern head coach
Yolanda Moore said. "We made some mental mistakes down the stretch. We got some good production from
Nanna Pool and from Gabby Delaune and some other people. I think everybody who played contributed but we just were not able to close out. We have to be able to close games and not have those mental lapses down the stretch when the games are close."

Southeastern took its biggest lead of the quarter at 73-69 on an Underwood jumper with 7:05 left. But a Hunter jumper tied it at 74 at the 5:28 mark.

ULM led 42-38 at the half and went up by six on a Hunter jumper with 9:41 left in the third. A Hernandez jumper put Southeastern back up 47-46 with 7:51 remaining. ULM rallied to go back up by six twice more, the second time at 59-53 on two Hunter free throws at the 5:30 mark.

After Underwood tied it at 59 on a layup with 3:23 left, Jackson buried a 3 for ULM. But the Lady Lions closed the quarter on a 10-4 run, taking their biggest lead of the half at 69-64 on a 3 by Underwood with 34 seconds left. A Hunter jumper made it 69-66 at the end of the quarter.

The Warhawks got out to a 9-2 lead on a Hunter layup with 6:49 left in the opening quarter. Pool tied it at 13 with a three-point play off an assist from Delaune at the 3:42 mark before Delaune gave Southeastern its first lead with a jumper at the 2:55 mark. Hernandez hit a jumper with 2 seconds left to give the Lady Lions a 21-19 lead at the end of the quarter.

Southeastern went up 29-24 on a Pool jumper with 4:36 left. But ULM answered with an 18-6 run to take a 42-35 lead on two Davis free throws with 1:23 left. A three-point play by Pool off an assist by Anderson with 1:02 left pulled the Lady Lions to within 42-38 at the half.

Southeastern visits Florida A&M Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Lady Lions then have an extended break for exams before hosting Jackson State on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
